The Holmberg
Bridge serves as a pedestrian walkway across a 4-lane highway
connecting the River Walk in Chattanooga, TN, with the Hunter
Museum. The bridge structure is framed with structural steel,
and the supporting elements are unique, geometrically shaped,
cast-in-place concrete sculpture-type structures. The deck of
the bridge consists of laminated glass which is lighted in the
evening from underneath the glass. Entrance onto the bridge
consists of steel-framed stairs or cast-in-place concrete
ramps. The bridge was completed in 2005.
