What You Will Do: 

We are looking for a full-time Engineering Standards Specialist in our Atlanta, Raleigh, or Nashville office. As a key contributor to our Quality Assurance Program, you will report directly to the Director of Quality Assurance and play a pivotal role in advancing company-wide standardization, efficiency, and quality.  Your primary focus will be on developing engineering standards, supporting committee-driven initiatives, and contributing to the creation of tools and resources that enhance quality and consistency across all offices.  As needed, you will also serve as a project engineer on large projects, performing engineering calculations, coordination, and detailing. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain engineering calculations and details to support growth of the Typical Detail Library
  • Collaborate with the Software Committee to create and refine engineering software templates, design guides, and spreadsheets
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting standards and Revit templates 
  • Assist in the integration of advanced technology and automation into engineering workflows
  • Participate in and support various committees that are part of the Quality Assurance Program, including the Quality Council, Software Committee, and BIM Committee
  • Provide support and training to other staff via one-on-one demonstrations or scheduled presentations 

What We Are Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, master’s degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) required
  • 6+ years of experience in structural design of steel, concrete, CMU, and wood buildings
  • Experience with engineering software (e.g., RAM, RISA, TSD, ETABS, Enercalc)
  • Experience with Revit
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Preferred Skills and Competencies: 

  • Experience developing or maintaining engineering standards, templates, or libraries
  • Technical writing ability consistent with engineering standards such as specifications and general notes
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting in engineering workflows
  • Interest in AI integration and technology-driven process improvement
