adaptive structural know-how.
Our definition of technical facilities are structures which don't house people. It is important that these structures adapt to the use of the facility. Bennett & Pless is highly skilled at understanding the functionality of the facility and the equipment/goods that are housed within it, then tailoring the structure to suit. We are recognized experts in a number of markets involving technical facilities including data centers, self storage facilities, signs and billboards, light industrial buildings, heavy industrial installations and manufacturing facilities.
These technical facilities also tend to be subject to additions and modifications. Making existing facilities work without structural upgrades requires experience and knowledge to develop simple solutions and produce designs which do not impact on-going operations. Bennett & Pless has that know-how.
With our substantial experience designing commercial, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, and parking structures, you can be confident that the structure will be efficiently designed. With over 50 years of experience comes an intimate knowledge of all building materials, structural systems and construction techniques that results in pragmatic building designs being developed to suit project-specific needs.
Maximum benefit is derived on projects involving existing buildings, whether they are renovations, adaptive re-use or structural assessments, this is where the firm’s breadth of experience and depth of knowledge can make these more constrained projects a cost-effective reality.
The speed and knowledge to deliver.
Bennett & Pless has been involved in the telecom industry for the past 25 years from the early analog years to the current digital era. It is one our niches where we are a recognized industry leader. In this industry, our focus is on leveraging our structural engineering expertise as it relates to telecom structures including wireless towers, tall broadcast towers, rooftop building installations, satellite dish installations and other telecom installations. We have the capacity, systems and national coverage to responsively meet the demands of this fast-paced industry.
The firm is involved in the analysis or design of over 1,000 telecom structures a year. We are an active member of the TIA/EIA-222 Tower Standard and heavily involved in the wireless industry itself.
Fully leveraging our expertise.
All structural problems are not created equal. Some require more sophisticated knowledge – whether that is familiarity with historic building codes, scientific insight into material behavior, theoretical understanding of structural failure mechanisms or some other deeper expertise. At Bennett & Pless, we have a “Special Projects Group” specifically focused on these one-of-a-kind projects that often require a greater depth of experience solved by senior structural engineers focused on these unique structural challenges. Unlike most traditional structural engineering firms, Bennett & Pless has created an engineering staff where over half of our engineers are Professional Engineers with more than 20 years of structural engineering know-how. With this experience, we have the knowledge and practical mindset to solve your most complex problems.
