SE 2050: Our Strategy for a Sustainable Future
Bennett & Pless is proud to be a signatory of the SE 2050 Commitment Program, a national effort to eliminate embodied carbon in buildings and infrastructure by the year 2050. This commitment aligns with our belief that structural engineers play a vital role in creating a more sustainable built environment.
What We’re Doing
We’ve developed a firmwide Embodied Carbon Action Plan (ECAP) that outlines how we’re making meaningful progress:
- Educating our team through onboarding, webinars, and professional engagement.
- Tracking embodied carbon using tools like Tally and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
- Reporting data and trends to benchmark our progress and guide future designs.
- Advocating for sustainability internally and across the industry.
From our project workflows to client conversations, we are integrating embodied carbon considerations into every phase of our work.
